John Rowley

John Rowley joined Wallem in January 2024 and resides in Hong Kong. He is a seasoned executive who has led several global businesses through growth and performance enhancement phases, primarily in the shipping & transportation, food & public health, and water & environmental sectors.

Previously, Rowley spent eight years at the Lloyds Register Group where, as President Asia Pacific, he guided the region to market-leading growth before taking over as CEO of the global LRQA business. He also served as CEO of SAI Global Assurance and led the Food & Assurance Divisions at NSF, leading these organisations as well as LRQA to significant turnarounds. Earlier in his career, he spent fourteen years at Ecolab Inc in a variety of growth focused key accounts and general management roles.

During these tenures, Rowley has spent several years on the boards of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, Accord Australasia, the Independent International Organisation for Assurance and the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management in UK, and he currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Matilda International Hospital in Hong Kong.

Rowley was educated at the University of Reading, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University, and he has lived and worked in London, Sydney, Shanghai and Singapore as well as Hong Kong.
