Capt. Anurag Mathur

Capt. Anurag Mathur joined Wallem in January 2023 and resides in Singapore. He is a maritime professional with over four decades of Maritime management expertise covering a wide range of the shipping industry. As Managing Director, Wallem Maritime Solutions, he brings together and leads the Commercial Services business, overseeing all aspects of the company’s global commercial operations, focused on supporting shipowners with their chartering, sale & purchase, and advisory services, along with the SeaSafe Marine (lifeboat and firefighting equipment inspection services) and VITS (Vessel IT Services) businesses.

Previously, Capt. Anurag held senior leadership positions across renowned ship-owning and third-party ship management companies including as a Managing Director at V Ships, Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director at Rickmers Shipping, and Director at Sandilands Ship Management. Prior to moving onshore, Capt. Anurag sailed on many types of vessels including tankers, bulk carriers and container vessels, rising in rank from cadet to Master Mariner.

Capt. Anurag is passionate about leadership through creating and motivating high performing teams that deliver operational and financial goals in a structured way, both on board and ashore. 

Capt. Anurag was educated at the Training Ship Rajendra in Mumbai and has lived and worked in India, Hong Kong and Singapore.
