On 22nd April, the Wallem Wayfarers comprised of Robbie Outram (Hong Kong), Rod Steele (Singapore) and Yogesh Pasrija (Mumbai) took on the Sailors’ Society Asian Challenge 2017.

The team climbed Mt Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina and last major peak at the end of the Himalayan range. In this incredible trekking challenge, these three relatively inexperienced hikers ascended 3,143 meters over 2 days to claim not only glory, but also 3rd place in their category.

Though mist remained for the duration of the weekend reducing visibility, and torrential rain did its best to dampen participants’ spirits; the sheer grit, determination and cohesiveness of the Wayfarers that is indicative of Wallem employees took them to the top in impressive fashion.

The team were proud of their achievement and to have reached their fundraising goal to help seafarers via the Sailor’s Society.
