The Thailand Cargolux office has been awarded the first runner up for the Best Multinational Company at the recent Annual Business Awards Ceremony hosted by The Netherlands - Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) and Belgian-Luxembourg Thai (Beluthai) Chamber of Commerce.
The Awards, held at the Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok on 1 October 2009, recognises companies which excel in the Benelux-Thai business community.
Wallem Shipping Thailand has been the General Sales Agent for Cargolux in Bangkok since 1970. Wallem’s aviation department team, led by Ms. Chalinee Nankhonen, is solely dedicated to serving Cargolux Airlines International.
The four award categories were:
• Best Multinational Company
• Best SME Company
• Best Original Idea from a Company
• Best Exporter to Benelux
From the many nominations that were received, only 10 nominees were chosen for interview and additional review before the final decision, which included Cargolux as the first runner up award for the Best Multinational Company.
Khun Chalinee Nankhonon, Country Manager of Cargolux in Bangkok and Aviation Director at Wallem Shipping, said it was an honour to be recognised.
“Just being nominated and in the race for an award from such prestigious institutions as the NTCC and Beluthai makes me very proud. It is also a proud moment for Luxembourg, as this is the first time a company from the country has been recognised at these awards.”
Some of the dignitaries attending the event included Mr. Marc Ungeheuer, Ambassador of Luxembourg, Mr. Pierre Metz, Trade Counselor of Luxembourg for Thailand, and Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, Finance Minister of Thailand.
