Solidly
based on an MSc in Marine Engineering and
Shipping Economics from Delft University in
The Netherlands, Rob Grool's career shows
increasing responsibility and a wide experience
in ship building/conversion, operations, chartering,
ship owning and third party ship management.
Before joining
Wallem in 2002 as the Group CEO, he worked
in The Netherlands, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia
and Cyprus, with shipping and trading companies
such as Vroon b.v., Saudi Livestock Transport
& Trading, Van Nievelt Goudriaan &
Co and Hanseatic Shipping Company, where he
was Joint Managing Director before taking
over the helm at Wallem. |

Nick
Tonkinson

| Nick
qualified in London in 1972 with Grant Thornton.
In early 1977 he became finance and administration
manager of an oil trading company based in
Hong Kong. First moving into a private venture
in Hong Kong as Finance Director, he continued
in 1984 to trade in oil and products and joined
Inchcape Shipping Services ("ISS")
in 1988 as CFO, Asia Pacific based in Tokyo.
Moved over to Dubai in 1992 with ISS as CFO
for Middle East/Africa, before appointment
as CFO, Europe in late 1993. Following ISS
group restructuring in 1996, he returned to
Dubai as regional Liner Director which was
followed a year later by a move to South Africa
as Finance Director of the newly acquired
shipping activities in Durban. Returning to
ISS in London in mid-1998, he subsequently
took up his present position in March 1999. |

Jim
Nelson Managing

Jim
Nelson had a seagoing career spanning from
Cadet to Chief Engineer on a variety of vessels
types including VLCC's, product carriers,
chemical tankers, bulk carriers and reefer
vessels. He has worked ashore since 1990 for
both Owners and Shipmanagers at various locations
worldwide. During his shore career he has
held positions in Shipmanagement Companies
as Technical Manager, Operations Manager,
Fleet Manager, General Manager and Technical
Director. He joined Wallem in January 2005. |

Simon
Doughty
Managing Director

Simon joined Wallem
in June 2005, He is responsible for Wallem
Shipagencies and the development of this
division, for the group worldwide. Before
joining Wallem he has gained many years
of experience in the maritime industry;
most recently in a senior management position,
with an international port agency company,
with responsibility for the 'Americas'.
Earlier in his career he has international
experience with a container line and a port
authority; with roles in sales and marketing,
customer service and management.

Michael
Birley Managing
Director

Born
and educated in the UK, Michael's career in
Shipbroking spans 32 years in both London
and Hong Kong. He's been involved in chartering,
sale and purchase and newbuilding in that
time. He spent 11 years in Hong Kong between
1984 and 1995, initially with Rodskog, then
Victoria / Clarkson Asia where he was Managing
Director from 1988. He took an active part
in developing newbulding opportunities for
local and overseas clients in the nascent
Chinese shipbuilding market and established
their first Chinese office in Beijing. He
returned to London as a Director of Clarksons
with responsibility their Newbuilding activities
which took him regularly back to China as
well as Korea and Japan.
After a short spell with Vogt and Maguire,
London running their sale and purchase activities,
he left to start his own business and has
been involved with an internet based marketplace
for business and investment opportunities.
Michael joined Wallem in April 2007 to further
develop Shipbroking activities with Wallem
Group clients and third parties. |

Jason
Chen
Director

Jason
started his career in 1975 with Japan Line,
for whom he worked for 13 years in their tanker,
bulk and container departments. Upon Japan
Line's merger with Yamashita Shin-Nihon Line,
he joined Jardine Matheson as Regional Vice
President. During his three years' assignment
Jason was responsible for all non-liner shipping
activities and built the freight forwarding
subsidiary.
In 1991 he established his
own agency, broking and forwarding company
named China Trading and Transportation,
and in 1994 formed a joint venture with
Wallem Group establishing Taiwan Wallem
Transportation Co., Ltd.
Through his career, Jason
has built a proven track-record in the fields
of ship finance, newbuilding and ship leasing.
In addition to Chinese (Mandarin), Jason
is fluent in English, Japanese and German.
Jason graduated from Berkeley University,
California, with a M.Sc. in macro economic
science.

Patrick
Slesinger
Director & Chief
Information Officer
Wallem Innovative Solutions

Patrick joined Wallem in
December 1992. He is responsible for Information
Technology, including business process management,
for the group worldwide. In 2000 he was
responsible for establishing Wallem Group's
Software Development and Business Process
Off-shoring Centre in the Philippines, WIS
Clark. This facility provides Wallem, its
clients and third parties cost effective
world class systems development and process
management. Patrick is the past Chairman
of the Intertanko IT Committee, and a keen
advocate of intra-industry Information Technology
and software development collaboration.
